- Shestov, Lev (Schwarzman, Lev Isakavich)
- (1866-1938)French philosopher, of Ukrainian origin. He was born in Kiev. He lived in France after the Russian Revolution of 1917. In 1922 he became professor of Russian philosophy at the University of Paris. His writings include Speculation and Revelation and Athens and Jerusalem.
